BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Mr Arif Ijaz

Founding Member & Patron

Mr. Arif Ijaz holds a Bachelor’s in Engineering and an MBA. He has over 30 years of experience in the corporate sector, particularly as the CEO of KSB Pumps Co. Ltd., a German multinational, and Adamjee Insurance, which was the largest insurance company in Pakistan in 2007. He has taught at LUMS for about 23 years and at the University of Engineering and Technology for 5 years.

He has also served as a board member of Pakistan Steel Mills, HUBCO, Lahore Stock Exchange, Management Association of Pakistan, and the Board of Cricket Control (BCCP). Additionally, he served as a member of the Government of Punjab Cabinet in 2013. He is currently an advisor to the Kohinoor Maple Leaf Group, one of the country’s largest industrial groups.

Mrs. Zareen Sheikh

Founding Member & Chairperson

She graduated from Kinnaird College for Women, Lahore, and earned her Master’s in English Literature from the University of Lahore College for Women. With extensive experience in corporate training, she has worked with executives from leading corporations, including collaborations with the British Council in Algeria and the British and American Council for L.M. Ericsson in Sweden. Her entrepreneurial ventures encompass the hospitality and customer service sectors. Additionally, she volunteered at Fatima Memorial Hospital (FMH), where she served as the Director of the Nur Student Leadership Program (NSLP) and continues to contribute as an in-house staff trainer.

Mrs. Fauzia Hussain Qureshi

Secretary

Fauzia H. Qureshi is an award-winning architect and former Principal of the National College of Arts. She received a Bachelor’s in Architecture with a gold medal from UET Lahore in 1975 and a Master of Architecture from MIT, Cambridge, USA, in 1980. As Director/Principal Architect of Unicon Consulting (Pvt) Ltd., she has been involved in planning, conservation of built heritage, and architectural design for over 40 years. An active participant in the women’s movement in Pakistan, she has presented numerous papers at national and international conferences and authored the book “Multan: A Spiritual Legacy.”

Mr. Ali Raza Shaukat

Board Member & Trustee

Mian Ali Raza brings over 15 years of experience to EFU General Insurance Ltd., a top insurance company in Pakistan. As Executive Vice President of the Liberty Division, he manages operations that generate over a billion in premiums annually. Mr. Raza holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, is a part-qualified ACCA from the UK, and has earned a Diploma in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK. His deep industry knowledge and leadership drive the company’s continued success.

Mr. Danial Saigol

Board Member & Trustee

Mr. Danial Saigol, Director of Kohinoor Textile Mills Limited, holds a Bachelor’s in Commerce with a major in Finance from McGill University, Montreal, Canada. With 13 years of expertise in human resources and strategy, he has been pivotal in the strategic development and modernization of the company. Kohinoor Textile Mills Limited, a leading name in the industry, has greatly benefited from his strategic vision and leadership.

Mr. Sayeed Saigol

Board Member & Trustee

Mr. Sayeed Tariq Saigol is a distinguished business leader with a strong educational background from Aitchison College, Millfield School, and McGill University. He has served as Managing Director of Kohinoor Dyeing Mills and is currently the CEO of Maple Leaf Cement Factory and Maple Leaf Power. He also holds positions on the boards of LUMS, Kohinoor Textile Mills, and Lahore Art Gallery, and has chaired the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA). In addition to his business acumen, Mr. Saigol has travelled extensively and has significant experience in senior health system management.

Dr. Shabnam Sarfraz

Board Member & Trustee

Dr Shabnum Sarfraz worked as the Global Director Gender & Health for the Women in Global Health, an organization with 58 chapters operating across 53 countries. Prior to this, she worked for the Federal Planning Commission, Government of Pakistan, where she was the national policy and planning lead for the health, education, youth and gender portfolios. She is a Harvard University Global Health LEAD Fellow and is the recipient of the Vice-Chancellor’s Alumni Awards 2021 as conferred by the University of Surrey.
